I like it! Especially with the number five in it. This makes you think more about giving compliments and makes it a goal for the day.
I will try this, starting tomorrow!

I agree. They can also become simple sayings without meaning.

Nietzsche, a philosopher who I admire greatly said, "Write with blood and you will find that spirit it blood...Whoever writes in blood and aphorisms does not want to be read but to be learned by heart."

If I have learned something truly by heart, which isn't merely about memorization, I have understood it intimately. I believe that this is the reason Jesus used parables, often those associated with agriculture to be grasped easily in his time, even though those without ears to hear missed much. This hearing, I might add, is simply not with the ears alone.

"The difference in how you react can be the difference between losing a long-time friend, client, or relative. The difference can be creating more business for yourself in the future or getting paid for work because you understood the situation and acted not out of retaliation but of understanding."

This is beautiful. Thank you.

Teague i do agree with you somewhat. However, there are many times i have received gifts and hated them/ returned them. Many people have encountered the same situation. This happens because someone gets you a present they think that you would like because they like it as well.

The golden leaves room for too much interpretations. This is what the platinum rule fixes. It states plane and simple do onto others as they would like.

Thanks for the comment

Another way of interpreting the Golden Rule, is that you would prefer someone to find out what you like and then do it for you, rather than act thoughtlessly and assume that everyone else enjoys the same things they do. Given that, slightly more thoughtful, interpretation, there really isn't a different between the two.

There are many great authors and spiritual leaders on this subject. There is also many ways to find it, cherish it and share it. Each person who joins the journey, in their own method, makes the world a better place.
